The first set-up
The first time the owner signs in, the software asks three things: what kind of jewelry business this is, the country, currency and weight units, and today's gold and silver rates. It takes about a minute.
- 1 Check the business name and pick the kind of business that fits you best.
- 2 Check the country, currency, time zone, the unit you weigh pieces in, and the unit you quote gold rates in (gram or tola).
- 3 Type today's 24K gold rate and the silver rate, sell and buy. 22K, 21K and 18K are worked out from the 24K rate by purity.
- 4 Press Finish set-up. The dashboard opens with your rates on top.
Your kind of business
Settings → Modules
A small shop should not have to walk past manufacturing and multi-company screens it will never use. The kind of business you pick switches on only the modules that kind of business needs.
What each kind switches on
- Small Jewelry Shop — sale screen, gold rates, stock and tags, old gold exchange, customer ledger (Khata), receipts and daily sales.
- Medium & Luxury Showroom — everything in Small Shop, plus diamonds and gemstones, quotations, VIP price lists, loyalty points, cash till sessions and employees.
- Manufacturer & Goldsmith — raw metal and stones, suppliers and purchasing, stock counts, karigar staff and wholesale price lists.
- Wholesaler & Distributor — wholesale price lists, quotations, credit on Khata, purchasing and several branches or warehouses.
- International Jewelry Chain — every module, including several companies, currencies and branches.
You can change the kind of business any time, or switch single modules on and off underneath it. Switching a module off hides its screens; nothing already recorded is deleted.
Your business details
Settings → Business
The name, address, phone, tax number and logo on the Business tab are printed on every invoice, quotation and tag. Fill them in before your first sale.
Region & Weights sets the currency, the time zone, the language, the weight unit and the unit gold rates are quoted in. Pricing & Tax sets the tax name and rate, whether prices include tax, and how totals are rounded. Invoice decides what the printed invoice shows.
This chapter describes the software as it is today. Every account gets the same guide inside the product, searchable and printable.
