Two accounts that never mix
Every karigar has a metal account — the fine grams of your metal they hold — and a money account — the making you owe them, less what you paid. One never pays off the other unless you choose to: handing metal back, or charging a shortfall at a rate.
Give a job, take the work back
Workshop & Quality → Jobs
The loss is what was given less what came back, in fine grams. Within the allowance the job completes on its own: the allowed loss comes off their metal account and the making goes on their money account.
Beyond the allowance the job waits for a supervisor, who decides: leave the extra on their metal account, charge it in money at a rate, or write it off.
- 1 Jobs → New job: the karigar, what to make, the making rate and the loss allowed (their own unless you change it).
- 2 Give material: metal from a lot, stones, findings or a piece already made. Their metal account goes up by the fine weight.
- 3 Receive: weigh the finished pieces (each is tagged and goes to QC), the scrap, and any metal not used. Stones not set go back to loose stock.
This chapter describes the software as it is today. Every account gets the same guide inside the product, searchable and printable.
