A work order from start to finish
Workshop & Quality → Work Orders
The real cost is the material and stones used, the labour and subcontracting of every step, and overhead (Settings → Policies). Each finished piece carries its share.
- 1 Designs → bill of materials: metal, stones, findings, labour and overhead for one piece, with the CAD number. Approve it.
- 2 Work Orders → New: for a customer order or for stock, with the design, quantity and purity. Approve it.
- 3 Reserve the materials — nobody else can use reserved metal or stones.
- 4 Add the steps one by one — casting, filing, setting, polishing — each given to a karigar, a subcontractor or a bench. Each step records who, when, the metal in and out, loss, defects and rework.
- 5 After the last step, weigh and tag the finished pieces. They go to QC and hallmarking; the order completes when all have passed.
