Taking a repair in and handing it back
Orders & Service → Repairs & Service
A repair is never part of your stock. It is held in custody: weighed, photographed and described as it came in, so there is no argument about its condition later.
- 1 Repairs → Receive an item: the customer, what it is, metal and weight, condition, the work (resizing, polishing, stone, chain, soldering, engraving, watch), an estimate and a date. Take photos.
- 2 Print the custody receipt. It carries a six-letter collection code — the customer keeps it.
- 3 When they agree, Start the work: give it to a karigar (a repair job opens, and any metal or stones added are issued there) or a bench.
- 4 Work done: enter the weight out and final charges, and check it. Passed → Ready. Tell the customer on WhatsApp from the repair page.
- 5 Hand over only against the receipt code — or, without it, check their ID and note it. Take the balance; the warranty starts and a service reminder is set for later.
