Setting tax up for your country
Set-up → Tax & E-invoicing
Set-up → Tax & E-invoicing: choose your country and apply its pack (Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, India, USA, UK, EU countries). It sets the tax name, whether prices include tax, the rules by tax class — and for India CGST + SGST within your state, IGST to others; for the US the states where you collect.
Packs are proposals, not advice. Have your tax adviser check them, then record that check on the same screen.
Classify each category: standard, reduced, zero-rated, exempt or investment gold, with its HS / HSN code. Bullion pieces are investment metal automatically.
عند الكاونتر
A customer marked tax-exempt, with a certificate number that has not expired, pays no tax. A customer's state or region decides regional tax.
Reverse charge (e.g. UAE gold and diamonds to a registered dealer): when it is on and the buyer has a tax number, no VAT is charged — a tax-inclusive price drops to its net — and the invoice says the buyer accounts for it.
Every return is also a credit note with its own number, referring back to the invoice.
E-invoicing
FBR (Pakistan) and ZATCA (Saudi Arabia) report each sale in real time — set them up under Settings → E-Invoicing.
UAE (PINT AE), Peppol and India (IRP) work through a file: each invoice and credit note is generated as UBL XML or IRP JSON when it is made, and kept with its SHA-256 fingerprint. Upload it through your provider and record their answer — the IRN, an acknowledgement or a rejection.
The archive cannot be changed or deleted; only the provider's answer is added.
This chapter describes the software as it is today. Every account gets the same guide inside the product, searchable and printable.
