Credit control
Money → Payments & Credit
Every credit sale has a due date: the customer's own terms, or the business's (Money → Payments & Credit → Settings).
Going over a customer's credit limit needs the "Sell on Khata over the Credit Limit" permission or a manager's PIN.
A payment pays the invoice you name first, then the oldest — the Khata shows what is still unpaid on each and when it was due, and every payment has a receipt.
Payments & Credit lists what is overdue, aged by days late, with a WhatsApp reminder for each. Collection reminders are also made every morning in Reminders.
Installment plans and payment links
Installment plan: part of what is on the Khata split into weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments. The piece has already gone home — unlike a layaway.
Payment link: connect your own Stripe account, then send a customer a link to pay a Khata balance, an installment, a layaway, a custom order deposit or a repair. They pay on Stripe's card page; card numbers never come into the software. The payment is checked with Stripe before it is put where it belongs.
This chapter describes the software as it is today. Every account gets the same guide inside the product, searchable and printable.
