From the workshop to the showcase

Workshop & Quality → QC & Hallmarking

With QC on, every piece made or received waits in Quarantined. Inspect it: tick the checklist, test the purity, record a certificate. Pass releases it — or sends it on to hallmarking. Fail or rework keeps it in quarantine.

A purity test well below what the piece claims fails it, whatever was ticked.

Pieces that passed and need a hallmark are sent to the assay centre together. When they come back, enter each mark; hallmarked pieces become available for sale.

Rules for your country

Rules sets, for each metal, whether a hallmark is required, from what weight, what the mark is called and its format — India's 6-character HUID, for example. Load your country's starting point and check it against the current law.

The inspection checklist is yours to edit, one check per line.

The country starting points are only a guide. You are responsible for following the hallmarking law where you trade.
