How to choose jewelry software

Eight questions worth asking any vendor — including us — and the honest answer to each.

7 days free · no credit card · every feature switched on

The short answer

Choose jewelry software by five things, in this order: whether it prices every piece from today's rate by weight and purity, whether it keeps stock piece by piece rather than by count, whether it accounts for metal — old gold, karigars and suppliers — in fine grams apart from money, whether it handles customers who pay later, and whether it files tax where you trade. Everything else is decided after those five. GoJewels Jewelry Management Software answers all five, for a flat monthly fee.

The eight questions

In the order they matter. Ask every one of them of every vendor you are considering — this list is more useful to you than our answers are.

  1. 1

Does it price from today's rate?

What to ask: Ask to change the gold rate and watch a price on the sale screen move. Software that stores a fixed price per piece is retail software, not jewelry software.

Our answer: Every piece is priced at the moment of sale from its weight, purity, making, wastage, stones and tax, at the rate entered today or taken from a feed.

  2. 2

Is stock kept piece by piece?

What to ask: Ask how it knows where one particular ring is right now — showroom, memo, workshop or another branch.

Our answer: Each piece has its own tag and record, and its place — reserved, on memo, at the workshop, in transit — changes only when someone records it.

  3. 3

Does it account for metal in fine grams?

What to ask: Ask what a karigar holds of yours today, and how old gold left by a customer is shown. If the answer is in money, the metal is not really accounted for.

Our answer: Karigars, suppliers and customers each have a metal account in fine grams, kept apart from money, settled at an agreed rate and confirmed with the other side.

  4. 4

    Is old gold bought safely?

What to ask: Ask whether a purchase can be made without the seller's identity, and who approves a large one.

Our answer: Never without the seller's ID; tested and valued at the buy rate; approved above your limit; in stock by fine weight.

  5. 5

Does it understand customers who pay later?

What to ask: Ask about the Khata: due dates, credit limits, part payments and installments.

Our answer: Credit sales go on the customer's Khata with a due date and a limit; payments are set against invoices; balances can become installment plans.

  6. 6

Does it file tax where I trade?

What to ask: Ask which authority it is integrated with by name, and whether the fiscal number prints on the receipt.

Our answer: FBR in Pakistan and ZATCA in Saudi Arabia in real time; UAE, India and Peppol invoices generated as files and archived; country packs to start from.

  7. 7

Will my staff read it in their own language?

What to ask: Ask which languages, and whether the layout flips for right-to-left.

Our answer: English, Arabic, Urdu, French, Russian and Spanish, with a true right-to-left layout for Arabic and Urdu, per branch.

  8. 8

Can I leave with my data?

What to ask: Ask for an export before you sign, not after.

Our answer: Every report exports to PDF, Excel and CSV, and stock and customers export the same way.

Who this is for — and who it is not

A good fit

  • Jewelry stores and showrooms that price by weight at the day's gold rate.
  • Workshops and manufacturers that send metal to karigars and need every gram accounted for.
  • Wholesalers and dealers who trade metal both ways and send stock on memo.
  • Jewellers who buy old gold over the counter and want it done safely.
  • Businesses with customers who pay later, more than one branch, or more than one language.

Look elsewhere if

  • A general retail shop, pharmacy or supermarket — this is built around weights, purities and metal rates.
  • A business needing a tax integration we do not have. Ask us before you buy rather than after.
  • A chain committed to a bespoke system its own developers maintain.

What is GoJewels?

GoJewels is jewelry management software made by Arriverr (Arriverr Software Solutions). It runs a jewelry business from one system — the sale screen priced at today's gold rate, tagged stock by weight, old gold buying, the Khata, karigars and manufacturing, metal accounts, custom orders and repairs, an online store, accounting, reports and tax — for jewellers in Pakistan, the Gulf and beyond.

Is GoJewels made by Arriverr?

Yes. GoJewels is the jewelry software brand of Arriverr Software Solutions (Arriverr).

How much does the free trial cost?

Nothing. The 7-day trial is completely free and needs no credit card — you create an account and the software opens straight away.

What happens when the free trial ends?

Your account is locked and you are shown an upgrade page when you sign in. Nothing is deleted: your stock, sales and settings are kept for 30 days, so choosing a plan puts you back exactly where you left off.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The software runs in a normal web browser on the counter PC, a tablet or a phone. A barcode scanner, a receipt printer and a label printer for tags are all the hardware a showroom needs.

Does the price follow the gold rate?

Yes. Enter today's rate — or take it from a rate feed — and every purity follows from its fineness. Each piece is priced at the moment of sale from its weight, purity, making, wastage, stones and tax, with every part printed on the invoice.

Try it against the list

Every feature is switched on for the trial, so you can check each of the eight yourself rather than take our word for it.
